Access points

Getting to Kunburudhoo

81.4 km from Velana International Airport

  • Public Ferry

    From Mahibadhoo (ADh. atoll capital)

    20 min

    Daily except Monday and Friday

MTCC's atoll ferry route, Mandhoo to Mahibadhoo, calls at Kunburudhoo — inbound from Mandhoo in the morning and back out of Mahibadhoo in the mid-afternoon, one sailing each way per operating day, so missing it means waiting a day. There is no direct ferry from Malé. The fare will be the fixed per-person public one-way rate.

    Not suited to late arrivals

  • Scheduled Speedboat

From Malé (with a pick-up at Velana International Airport)

    1 hr 45 min

    Daily

The only direct link between Malé and Kunburudhoo, and the way most visitors actually arrive, about an hour and three-quarters, with an airport pick-up shortly after the Malé departure. Kunburudhoo is an intermediate stop after Mahibadhoo, Omadhoo and Hangnaameedhoo, so arrival slips when the earlier stops run late. The last run leaves Malé in the late afternoon and nothing sails in the evening, so an evening international arrival means a night in Malé first. The fare is the fixed per-person public one-way rate, but no figure could be confirmed against the operator.

    Not suited to late arrivals

  • Private Speedboat

From Villa International Airport, Maamigili (ADh.)

    Daily

This is the onward leg from the Maamigili flight, and the only way to complete that journey as there is no causeway and no scheduled boat on this crossing. Villa Air's sister company Villa Marine Transport runs charter speedboats from the airport to islands in the atoll, arranged on request rather than to a timetable, and Malé-based operators will also charter direct to the island. Kunburudhoo sits about 35 km from Maamigili across open atoll water, so this is a real crossing rather than a hop, and it has to be arranged before you fly. This is a charter fare, not a fixed per-person rate.

    Not suited to late arrivals

  • Domestic Flight

    From Velana International Airport (Malé)

    30 min • $236.97 per person

    Daily

Villa Air, still widely sold under its former, is the sole operator to Villa International Airport, Maamigili (VAM), twice daily each way. This covers the first leg only: Maamigili is a separate island roughly 35 km across the atoll from Kunburudhoo with no causeway between them, so the flight must be followed by a boat crossing booked separately. Fare is priced per person for one-way travel.
